Italian duo Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori, runners-up of last year’s Australian open, rallied past Andre Goransson and Sem Verbeek 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the finals after winning at the Adelaide International earlier this month.
The third seed duo made a stunning comeback after losing the first set, winning nine consecutive matches following their semi-final triumph in Melbourne.
Meanwhile, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten secured their spot in the final after a thrilling victory over Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz (6-4, 3-6, 7-6). The former 2024 Wimbledon champions recovered after dropping the first set, fighting back to take the match into a crucial tie-break.
The stage is now set for Heliovaara and Patten, who will be looking to win their maiden Australian Open doubles titles against the reigning finalists, Bolelli and Vavassori.
