J-K: Army operation continues in Baramulla after terror attack kills four

Search operations continued on Friday morning in Baramulla following a firefight between the Indian Army and terrorists the previous night.

At least four people, including two soldiers, were killed when militants ambushed an army vehicle in Kashmir on Thursday. One soldier and one porter were injured and are currently receiving treatment, Indian Army officials said on Friday.

Omar Abdullah, the newly-elected chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, took to X to condemn the attack and express his condolences.

“Very unfortunate news about the attack on the army vehicles in the Boota Pathri area of North Kashmir which has resulted in some casualties & injuries. This recent spate of attacks in Kashmir is a matter of serious concern. I condemn this attack is the strongest possible terms & send my condolences to the loved ones of the people who lost their lives. I also pray that injured make a complete & swift recovery.”, the CM said in his post on X.

In a separate incident, terrorists shot and injured a labourer in the Batgund Tral area of Pulwama district. The injured labourer, identified as Pritam Singh, is a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, on 20 October, a doctor and six construction workers were killed when terrorists attacked a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway in Ganderbal district.
