A landslide triggered by torrential rain has obstructed the Narayangadh-Butwal road section along the East-West Highway, causing significant disruptions. The road has been partially operational since Tuesday evening, but the situation remains precarious as the monsoon season continues to wreak havoc across the region.
The ongoing monsoon winds have been affecting the entire country, with the low-pressure system still hovering around its average position. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal can expect generally cloudy weather conditions in the coming days. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely to occur in various parts of all provinces.
The department has also issued a warning for heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, particularly in one or two locations across the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. The risk of further landslides and flooding remains high, urging residents and travelers to exercise caution.
