Mahakumbh 2025: Namami Gange Pavilion highlights Ganga conservation efforts

The Namami Gange Pavilion at Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj has become a focal point for spreading awareness about the conservation and cleanliness of the Ganga River, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Jal Shakti on Thursday.

Set up by the Namami Gange Mission, the pavilion draws large crowds daily, providing an immersive experience through its interactive and digital exhibits.

A key attraction is the biodiversity tunnel, which offers a glimpse into the rich ecosystem of the Ganga, featuring the sounds and sights of birds and other creatures, dependent on the river. The pavilion’s digital exhibition showcases the government’s efforts in keeping the Ganga clean, including real-time data on water quality and pollution through the Prayag Platform.

The pavilion also highlights the functioning of sewage treatment plants and riverfront development projects focused on preserving the river. Visitors, particularly children, can explore replicas of the Ganga’s aquatic life, including dolphins, turtles, and fish, which aim to educate on the importance of biodiversity.

A Reading Corner by the National Book Trust, featuring books on the Ganga and Indian culture, adds a cultural dimension to the exhibition. The pavilion also houses a statue of Lord Ganesh, reinforcing the emotional and cultural significance of the Ganga.
