Death toll reaches 11 in Jalgaon train accident; six injured

The death toll in the Jalgaon train accident has reached 11, with six people injured, after a collision involving the Karnataka Express and passengers of the Pushpak Express, officials confirmed.

Preliminary reports indicate that passengers of the Pushpak Express had stepped onto the tracks after leaving their coaches due to a suspected fire. While they were on the adjacent track, the Karnataka Express approached and collided with them.

Nashik Divisional Commissioner Praveen Gedam stated that police and other authorities are at the site to coordinate rescue operations. Eight ambulances and multiple railway rescue vans have been dispatched, with the District Collector and Divisional Railway Manager maintaining contact to ensure assistance.

Superintendent of Police Maheswar Reddy reported that six individuals injured in the accident are receiving medical attention, and no one is currently in life-threatening condition, as per hospital updates.

Rescue teams, including ambulances and fire services, have reached the incident site in Pachora, located in Jalgaon district.
