MIB tableau highlights India’s storytelling heritage at Republic Day Parade

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) showcased its tableau themed “Bharat Gatha: Shruti, Kriti, Drishti” during the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path on Monday, highlighting India’s historic storytelling traditions and its evolution into a global media hub.

The tableau depicted India’s journey from ancient oral narratives to modern cinema and digital content, underlining how cultural storytelling has shaped the country’s creative industries over the centuries.

The presentation also featured WAVES, positioned as a global platform aimed at advancing India’s media and entertainment leadership through innovation, cultural diplomacy and technology-driven content. The display blended civilisational motifs with future-ready visual elements, reflecting the transformation of traditional art forms into contemporary media formats.
