A two-day workshop was organized by the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSE&L), Ministry of Education, in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from September 30 to October 1. The STARS knowledge-sharing workshop, which focused on school-to-work transitions and improving assessment systems, was inaugurated by Uday Pratap Singh, State Minister of Transport and School Education.
In his speech, Singh emphasized the National Education Policy 2020’s focus on the holistic development of children and the STARS project’s role in transforming education. Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, DoSE&L, highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between education and employment, while Vipin Kumar, Additional Secretary, welcomed participants and discussed opportunities for learning.
Panel discussions explored the role of policies like NEP 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework in promoting skill-based education, internships, and updated curricula. Experts stressed the need for collaboration between schools and industries and aligning educational content with industry standards.
Speakers also addressed innovations in educational assessments, psychometric analysis, and career counselling. The workshop concluded with key takeaways on strengthening assessment systems and enhancing school-to-work transitions, summarized by Vipin Kumar.
