The monsoon winds continue to influence weather conditions across Nepal. The weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country today. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely in some areas over the next 24 hours. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in one or two locations in the Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
Nepal’s Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued an advisory urging necessary precautions to mitigate the risks of disasters such as floods, landslides, and soil erosion in these areas. These conditions may partially disrupt daily life as well as impact agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transport in the affected regions.
In a related incident, an avalanche occurred at Manapathi Himal in the Dhaulagiri mountain range in Mustang district on Tuesday evening, leading to the blockage of Bokshikhola. This blockage presents significant challenges for vehicular movement on the Beni-Jomsom road, which runs along Bokshikhola.
