MP assembly elections: Preparatory review meeting starts by Election commission 

A delegation of the Election Commission of India has started reviewing the preparations for the state assembly elections in 2023 under the leadership of Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre in Bhopal from Monday to July 5.

The first meeting will be with State Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan and police officers. After this, there will be meetings with the Collector, District Election Officer, and Superintendent of Police.

The delegation will have a meeting with the Collector and District Election Officer and Superintendents of Police of the districts falling under Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, and Narmadapuram divisions on July 3 and Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, Jabalpur, Shahdol, and Rewa divisions on July 4.

On July 5, there will be a meeting with nodal officers of the Enforcement Agency, Income Tax and Excise Department, State GST, RPF, CISF, Commercial Tax Department, and other enforcement agencies. After this, there will be a meeting with the Chief Secretary and the DGP.

Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Congress has called a meeting on political affairs for Monday. Veteran Congress leaders, including Digvijay Singh and Suresh Pachauri, will be attending this important meeting to be held this evening at the residence of former Chief Minister Kamal Nath.

Members of the Political Affairs Committee will be present at the meeting. Congress general secretary KC Venugopal and state in-charge JP Aggarwal will also attend the meeting. In the meeting, preparations will be made for the visits of Congress stalwarts in the month of July. Along with this, there will be a discussion on the preparations for the elections. In view of the upcoming assembly elections, Congress will start preparing for big meetings.

It is notable that the Congress, which is trying to return to power, is focusing on Gwalior-Chambal and Vindhya.
