MSME exports cross ₹9.52 lakh crore in April–September FY26

India’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) exported goods worth over ₹9.52 lakh crore during the first half of the current financial year, Parliament was informed on Thursday.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shobha Karandlaje said MSME-related exports stood at ₹9,52,023.35 crore during April–September of FY 2025–26. The data has been compiled from the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S) portal, based on identified MSME-linked products.

The government noted that India’s export performance during the period showed strong momentum, particularly in high-value and technology-driven sectors such as electronic goods, pharmaceuticals and engineering products, where MSMEs play a key role.

The minister said the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) has been rolled out to strengthen the MSME export ecosystem. Under the mission, financial assistance is being provided through the Niryat Protsahan initiative to ease access to trade finance for MSME exporters.

Non-financial support is being extended through the Niryat Disha initiative, which focuses on improving export quality standards, regulatory compliance, market access, logistics facilitation and overall ecosystem development.

The minister also said that lower GST rates on raw materials and services have reduced costs for small businesses and start-ups, enabling them to expand operations, invest in innovation and enhance competitiveness in global markets.

According to the government, these measures have strengthened domestic supply chains across sectors such as automobiles, textiles, food processing, logistics and handicrafts, supporting MSME-led growth and export expansion.
