The application window for the scheme, which covers air conditioners and LED lights, was open from September 15 to Novermber 10. Of the 13 applicants, one existing beneficiary pledged an additional Rs. 15 crore, while nine companies — accounting for 75% of total proposals — applied for manufacturing air conditioner components with a combined investment of Rs. 1,816 crore. The remaining four firms proposed Rs. 98 crore for LED component manufacturing, including LED chips, drivers and heat sinks.

The proposed investments span six states across 13 districts and 23 sites, supporting regional industrial growth and job creation, DPIIT said.
