Mumbai Police visited Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence on Wednesday to record his statement regarding the stabbing incident.
Khan, who was attacked at his home last week, was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday after five days of treatment. His return home was accompanied by heavy police security, with visuals showing the actor leaving the hospital smiling and waving at the paparazzi. Khan also greeted fans and media gathered outside his residence as he made his way back.
Notably, actor Ronit Roy, known for his work in television and films, was seen accompanying Khan during his return. Roy’s presence raised questions as he appeared to coordinate with police officials and oversee security arrangements at the residence shared by Khan and his wife, Kareena Kapoor.
It was later confirmed that Saif had hired Ronit Roy’s security firm, ‘Ace Security and Protection’, to enhance his safety following the attack.
Last week, an intruder identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad entered Khan’s residence with the intent to steal. A violent confrontation ensued when the actor intervened, during which Khan sustained stab wounds to his thoracic spine. He was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.
Mumbai Police launched an investigation and registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). The accused, Shehzad, was apprehended in Thane’s Hiranandani Estate while attempting to flee to his native village in Bangladesh.
According to police reports, Shehzad hails from the Jhalokati district of Bangladesh.
