The nation is commemorating Veer Baal Diwas today, marking the heroic sacrifice of the four sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of the Sikhs.
This day, dedicated to their martyrdom, serves as a reminder of their steadfast bravery and commitment to their faith.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a message shared on his X account (formerly Twitter), said: “Today, on Veer Baal Diwas, we remember the unparalleled bravery and sacrifice of the Sahibzades. At a young age, they stood firm in their faith and principles, inspiring generations with their courage.”
He added, “Their sacrifice is a shining example of valour and a commitment to one’s values. We also remember the bravery of Mata Gujri Ji and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. May they always guide us towards building a more just and compassionate society.”
In a significant event, Prime Minister Modi will address the nation during the Veer Baal Diwas celebrations at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, at 12 noon today.
He will also launch the ‘Suposhit Gram Panchayat Abhiyan’, a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing nutrition outcomes and improving the well-being of communities through strengthened nutrition services and active community participation.
The day will witness a series of initiatives across the country to engage young minds and promote the values of courage and sacrifice.
Various activities, including interactive quizzes, storytelling, creative writing, and poster-making, will be organized in schools, Child Care Institutions, and Anganwadi centres.
Competitions will be held online through the MyGov and MyBharat portals, encouraging nationwide participation.
Additionally, awardees of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) will also be present during the event, further highlighting the importance of nurturing and honouring the future generation of the country.
