In a bid to encourage greater youth participation in nation-building, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, announced on Monday that the National Youth Festival (NYF) 2025 will be renamed “Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue.”
The reimagined festival will serve as a dynamic platform for young people to share their ideas for achieving the vision of a developed India, or “Viksit Bharat.”
Speaking at a press conference in Delhi, Mandaviya said: “The festival aims to identify and nurture young talent, providing them a platform to share their ideas for Viksit Bharat. A major highlight for the youth will be the opportunity to directly interact with the Prime Minister and present their ideas for India’s future, thereby enhancing youth engagement in politics and civic life.”
The ‘Viksit Bharat Challenge:’ A Four-Stage Competition
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue will feature the Viksit Bharat Challenge, a four-stage competition designed to inspire youth participation. The stages are as follows:
Round 1: Viksit Bharat Quiz
A digital quiz for individuals aged 15-29 on India’s achievements, hosted on the Mera Yuva Bharat platform from November 25 to December 5, 2024.
Round 2: Essay/Blog Writing
Winners of Round 1 will submit essays on themes like “Tech for Viksit Bharat” and “Empowering Youth for Viksit Bharat.”
Round 3: State-Level Presentations
Participants will present their ideas at the state level, with each state selecting teams for the national competition.
Round 4: National Championship
State-level teams will compete at the National Youth Festival on January 11-12, 2025, with the winning teams presenting their ideas to the Prime Minister.

An exhibition showcasing youth-focused initiatives from States/UTs and Central Ministries, including education, skill development, and entrepreneurship projects.
-Plenary Sessions
Interactive dialogues and workshops led by national and global icons, offering youth the chance to exchange ideas and learn from inspiring leaders.
-Cultural Programs
Celebrating “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi,” the festival will feature cultural performances, highlighting India’s rich heritage.
