Nayab Singh Saini takes oath as Haryana Chief Minister for second time

Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for a second term on Thursday, marking the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) third consecutive government in the state.

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office to Saini and his council of ministers at a ceremony held at Dussehra Ground, Sector 5, Panchkula.

In the recent assembly elections, the BJP secured 48 out of 90 seats, while the Congress won 37.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by several prominent BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh.

Other key figures present included Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and NDA allies such as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Saini was elected leader of the Haryana BJP Legislature Party in a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Chandigarh earlier on Wednesday.

Following the oath-taking, an NDA meeting is scheduled to take place in Chandigarh from 3 PM to 5 PM, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to address the gathering.
