The weekly parliamentary party meeting of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) began on Tuesday at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building (PLB), with MPs waving the Tricolour and raising slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with several senior leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, was seen waving the national flag during the gathering.
The meeting assumes significance as it is the NDA’s last parliamentary party meeting of the Monsoon Session, which concludes on Thursday.
The session has so far been marked by repeated disruptions, with Opposition members staging protests over several issues and the government facing fierce contestation over key legislative measures.
With only two days remaining in the session, Tuesday’s ‘Mangal Milan’ is expected to focus on the NDA’s strategy for the final stretch, including floor coordination, key debates and the passage of pending legislative business before the session concludes.
Held every Tuesday during parliamentary sittings, the weekly gathering serves as a coordination platform for the ruling alliance, enabling its constituent parties to align their legislative agendas, coordinate floor strategy and build consensus on issues before Parliament.
The weekly gathering has been rebranded as ‘Mangal Milan’ from the Monsoon Session onward.
