Nepal FM Dr. Arju Rana Deuba meets UN Official to discuss Nepal’s role in global peacekeepin

Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, currently in New York for the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), held a meeting with Atul Khare, the Under-Secretary-General for the United Nations Department of Operational Support.

According to the New York-based Nepali Mission, various aspects of the UN-Nepal relations and cooperation were discussed including the continuation of cooperation between Nepal and the UN and its contribution to the field of peace and security. The Department has been working in the field of management of security personnel of the UN missions deployed for peacekeeping.

Nepal Army is the largest troop contributor in the UN peacekeeping missions worldwide. Regarding contribution to the peacekeeping force, Rwanda, Bangladesh and India are the second, third and fourth contributors respectively.
