Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli calls on Nepali youth abroad to return and create jobs at home

Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, addressing the World Leader Forum organized by Columbia University in New York, called on Nepali youths living abroad to return home and create employment opportunities. During his speech on *Nepal’s Journey of Democracy and Economic Development*, PM Oli stressed the importance of youth participation in the nation’s transformation and economic growth.

Oli underscored that Nepal’s national aspiration, *Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali*, aims to eradicate poverty and ensure that every citizen can live with dignity. He highlighted that the government has introduced programs such as small-scale industries and startups to generate employment and foster entrepreneurship within the country.

“The youth are pivotal to nation-building,” Oli remarked, emphasizing that Nepal cannot undergo a meaningful transformation without their active involvement. He also pointed to Nepal’s strategic position between two economic giants, India and China, and expressed confidence that Nepal is poised to become a multi-dimensional economy.

Addressing Nepal’s political landscape, PM Oli said that he is leading a government supported by two major parliamentary parties that played crucial roles in Nepal’s democratic movement. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring good governance and transparency in the administration.

PM Oli’s visit to New York comes as he leads the Nepali delegation to the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, where discussions on global and national issues will take center stage.
