Newly appointed Indian Ambassador Presents Credentials to Yemeni Foreign Minister

Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, India’s newly appointed non-resident Ambassador to Yemen, has presented a copy of his credentials to Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaya Mohsin Zindani.During their meeting, Ambassador Khan and Foreign Minister Zindani discussed India-Yemen relations and other issues of mutual interest.

This interaction marks an important step in Dr. Khan’s new role, where he will represent India’s interests in Yemen while being based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.Dr. Khan currently serves as India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. His concurrent accreditation to Yemen reflects India’s diplomatic approach in the region.

The Embassy of India in Sana’a has been temporarily functioning from a camp office in Djibouti since 2015 due to the political and security situation in Yemen. Yemen is getting a new Indian ambassador after a gap of ten years due to the prevailing political situation in the country.
