Next-Gen Air Mobility Takes Off as eVTOL Join Dubai Airshow 2025 Line-Up

Preparations are underway for the most ambitious edition of the Dubai Airshow, set to open on 17 November under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. For the first time, electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, known as eVTOL , will feature in the Airshow’s flying display, underscoring Dubai’s commitment to pioneering next-generation air mobility and sustainable aviation.

The 19th edition of the Airshow will bring together global trailblazers, disruptors, and decision-makers across aviation, space, and defence. The event expects to host over 1,500 leading companies from 47 countries, 490 official delegations from 98 nations, and more than 148,000 visitors. Themed ‘The Future is Here,’ the 2025 event will spotlight advancements in sustainability, AI-driven innovation, advanced mobility, space exploration, and future talent development.

Speaking at a press conference attended by senior government officials and industry leaders, Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, said that Dubai Airshow 2025 comes at a defining moment for aviation and aerospace, as technology, sustainability and global connectivity converge to reshape how the world moves. He noted that it reflects the UAE’s ambition to lead in these sectors and Dubai’s role as a hub for collaboration, a stage for innovation, and the place where the future of the industry takes shape.

The Airshow will feature more than 200 of the world’s most advanced aircraft and will host over 120 startups alongside 50 investors. Industry pioneers will deliver more than 350 hours of sessions across 12 conference tracks. The inclusion of eVTOLs in the live flying display above Dubai symbolizes the city’s embrace of advanced air mobility. The event will also introduce “Airshow After Dark,” an evening networking and entertainment experience held alongside the runway.

Tim Hawes, Managing Director at Informa Markets, described the upcoming edition as the most ambitious in the Airshow’s history, highlighting new attractions such as the largest-ever Space Pavilion, the debut of eVTOL demonstrations, and expanded exhibition areas. He added that with the UAE at the forefront of aviation, Dubai Airshow is set to be the global stage where industry visionaries converge to define the future of aerospace.

Additional features include a 5K runway run as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, Youth Circles, the Inspiration Zone, and wellness activities supported by the Dubai Health Authority. The event aims to showcase innovation while fostering partnerships and investments that will define the trajectory of global aerospace for decades to come.
