Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday described Operation Sindoor as a “short-duration, deep-penetration, high-intensity and high-impact” operation that demonstrated India’s growing military capabilities and collective resolve.
Addressing the second edition of the Joint Commanders’ Conference in Jaipur, the defence minister said the operation reflected the Indian armed forces’ swift, precise and joint response in safeguarding national interests.
“Operation Sindoor is a testament to the swift, precise and joint response of the Indian Defence Forces to safeguard national interests,” Singh said, while urging commanders of the three services to remain future-ready amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
He said future conflicts would increasingly be shaped by hybrid threats, information dominance and operations conducted simultaneously across cyber, space, electromagnetic and cognitive domains.
Further, the defence minister stressed the need to strengthen capabilities in artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, data analytics and secure communication networks to prepare for future warfare.
“Future wars will not be won solely through weaponry, but through innovative thinking and enhanced synergy,” he said, while appreciating the progress made in enhancing jointness, integration and technological adoption across the armed forces.
Singh also urged military commanders to cultivate the “element of surprise” to remain unpredictable to adversaries and maintain a strategic edge.
During the conference, Singh released a documentary on Operation Sindoor along with the Hindi version of Vision 2047 document and the Joint Doctrine for Integrated Communication Architecture aimed at improving interoperability and integrated communication across the armed forces.
The conference, themed “Military Capability in New Domains”, focused on future warfare, multidomain operations, cyber resilience, AI-enabled threats, indigenous innovation and emerging military technologies.
The event was attended by Anil Chauhan, Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Upendra Dwivedi, AP Singh and senior civil and military officials.
