The Ministry of Ayush on Friday reported that more than 10,000 complaints have been registered on the Ayush Suraksha Portal since its launch, highlighting the government’s efforts to monitor misleading advertisements and ensure safety in traditional medicine systems.
The portal, launched on May 30, 2025, is an IT-enabled platform designed to track misleading and objectionable advertisements as well as adverse drug reactions related to Ayush products. It features a centralised dashboard to enable prompt regulatory action and data-driven analysis.
According to official data, a total of 10,269 complaints related to misleading advertisements and 216 suspected adverse drug reactions have been reported on the portal so far.
The Ministry said that all complaints received through the portal have been forwarded to the concerned authorities for necessary action. Data shared by states and Union Territories indicate varying levels of response, with some states reporting full disposal of complaints, while others are in the process of taking action.
Maharashtra recorded the highest number of complaints at over 1,100, all of which have been acted upon, while states such as Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi also reported a significant number of cases.
The government also identified instances of repeat offenders in some states, with action taken against them based on the complaints received through the portal.
The Ayush Suraksha Portal is part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen regulation and ensure accountability in the promotion and use of traditional medicine systems, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy.
