Perpetrators, conspirators of this attack will face the harshest response: PM Modi in Mann ki Baat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday issued a stern warning to those responsible for the recent terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He assured that the perpetrators and conspirators behind this heinous act would face the harshest response.

Speaking during the 121st episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ PM Modi expressed his deep anguish over the incident and promised justice for the families of the victims.

“Today, as I share my thoughts with you, there is profound sorrow in my heart. The Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 has left every citizen of the country heartbroken. Every Indian, regardless of their state or language, shares the pain of those who lost their loved ones,” he said.

The Prime Minister noted the nationwide outrage triggered by the attack. “I understand the anger and grief every Indian is experiencing after witnessing the visuals of the terrorist attack. It reflects the frustration and cowardice of those who support terrorism,” he said.

PM Modi highlighted that the attack came at a time when Kashmir was witnessing a return to normalcy. “Peace was returning to Kashmir. Schools and colleges were bustling with activity, construction was progressing at an unprecedented pace, democracy was strengthening, tourism was reaching record highs, incomes were rising, and new opportunities were emerging for the youth. Those who are enemies of India and Jammu and Kashmir could not tolerate this progress and thus conspired to carry out this attack,” he added.

“The solidarity of 140 crore Indians is our greatest strength. This unity forms the foundation of our decisive fight against terrorism. We must remain determined and resilient. Today, the entire nation speaks in one voice, and the world is witnessing this resolve,” the Prime Minister said.

Acknowledging the global support India has received, PM Modi said, “The grief and anger we Indians feel are being shared across the world. Since the attack, we have received an outpouring of condolences from global leaders, who have condemned the attack and expressed their sympathies to the victims’ families. The entire world stands firmly with India in this fight against terrorism.”

PM Modi added, “I once again assure the families of the victims that justice will be delivered. The perpetrators and conspirators of this attack will face the harshest consequences.”
