PM Modi addresses election rally in Rajasthan’s Churu

Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the work done by his government at the Centre over the past decade are like a “trailer,” with more to come in the future.

He made these remarks while addressing an election rally in Rajasthan’s Churu Lok Sabha constituency, where the BJP has fielded paralympic gold medallist Devendra Jhajharia as its candidate.

Jhajharia steps in for former two-time MP Rahul Kaswan, who switched to the Congress party after being denied the BJP ticket and is now contesting from Churu under the Congress banner.

“I want to tell you that all we’ve done (developments work) till now, is just a trailer. These days, when we go to big hotels to eat food, they first bring a few appetizers…so what Modi has done (till now) is an appetizer and the main course is yet to come. We have to take the country forward,” PM Modi said.

Rajasthan is set to vote in two phases, with polling scheduled for April 19 and April 26. The first phase will cover 12 Lok Sabha seats on April 19, while the remaining 13 seats will go to polls in the second phase on April 26.

In the first phase, voting will be held in Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur.

Constituencies voting in the second phase include Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota, and Jhalawar-Baran.
