PM Modi, Amit Shah pay homage to Balasaheb Thackeray on his birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and several other leaders paid homage to Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray on his birth anniversary on Thursday, remembering his contributions to public welfare, nationalism, and the pride of Indian culture.

In a post on X, PM Modi praised Thackeray for his unwavering commitment to Maharashtra’s development and public welfare. “I pay homage to Balasaheb Thackeray Ji on his birth anniversary. He is widely respected and remembered for his commitment to public welfare and Maharashtra’s development. He was uncompromising when it came to his core beliefs and always contributed towards enhancing the pride of Indian culture,” the Prime Minister wrote.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also honored the legacy of Balasaheb, emphasizing his dedication to the ideals of Sanatan culture and nationalism. “The revered Balasaheb Thackeray, who was lifelong dedicated to the ideals of Sanatan culture and nationalism, always placed the nation’s welfare above all else. Even in adverse circumstances, Balasaheb never compromised on his principles, and his ideological firmness will continue to inspire us forever,” Shah stated in a post on X. He further added, “On the birth anniversary of the strong nationalist Balasaheb Thackeray, we bow to him with deep respect.”

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena Chief Eknath Shinde also remembered Thackeray, calling him the “Hindu heart emperor.” In his tribute posted on X, Shinde wrote, “Humble tributes to the venerable Hindu heart emperor, Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray, on his birth anniversary, in his sacred memory.”

Aditya Thackeray, grandson of Balasaheb, shared an emotional tribute on X, stating, “Hindu Hriday Samrat, there will never be another like him. On his birth anniversary, a humble tribute!”

Balasaheb Thackeray, known for his fiery speeches and staunch advocacy for the rights of Marathas and Hindus, founded the Shiv Sena party in 1966. He was a prominent figure in Maharashtra politics and remains a revered icon for many.
