PM Modi and leaders extend greetings on Hindi Diwas

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other political leaders extended greetings on Hindi Diwas, celebrated on September 14 to commemorate the adoption of Hindi as an official language of India.

“Many best wishes to all the countrymen on Hindi Diwas,” PM Modi posted on X.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah expanded on the significance of the day in a video message, saying that this year marks the 75th anniversary of Hindi’s official status. “This year’s ‘Hindi Diwas’ is very important for all of us,” Home Minister Shah said, emphasizing Hindi’s role in fostering national unity while respecting linguistic diversity.

HM Shah highlighted the Modi government’s efforts to strengthen both Hindi and local languages over the past decade. He announced an upcoming AI-powered translation portal that will facilitate translation between Hindi and all languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.

BJP President JP Nadda also extended his wishes, describing Hindi as a “powerful carrier of our sentiments” that has played a crucial role in national progress.

Taking to platform X, BJP President said, ”Hindi, a powerful carrier of our sentiments, has played an important role in the progress of the nation by binding together the diverse society and culture of the country and by expressing itself through mediums like scriptures, literature, music, etc. From the freedom movement till today, this medium of communication between the people is our invaluable asset. Come, let us together take a pledge to promote all the rich languages of the country including the official language Hindi,” the post read in Hindi.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also conveyed his heartiest wishes to the people on this occasion.

Taking to X, Dhami wrote that the Hindi language is a symbol of the soul and pride of the nation.

“Heartiest greetings of Hindi Diwas to all the residents of the state. Hindi is not just our language but it is a symbol of the soul and pride of our nation. Come, let us all give priority to Hindi words in our daily conversation and take a pledge to enrich this glorious heritage of the country,” the Chief Minister wrote in Hindi.
