PM Modi and New Zealand PM Luxon discuss bilateral cooperation at ASEAN-India Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon today on the sidelines of the ASEAN-India Summit, marking their first official engagement.

During their discussions, the leaders explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, defense, renewable energy, education, dairy, agri-tech, sports, tourism, space, and cultural exchanges. Both Prime Ministers acknowledged that regular high-level interactions have significantly boosted relations, referencing the recent successful visit of India’s President to New Zealand.

Prime Minister Modi welcomed New Zealand’s commitment to join the International Solar Alliance, emphasizing a shared vision for sustainable energy initiatives.

The leaders reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening collaboration in multilateral forums and expressed intentions to elevate the India-New Zealand partnership further. Prime Minister Modi extended an invitation for Prime Minister Luxon to visit India, which was graciously accepted.
