PM Modi and UN Chief Guterres Discuss Human-Centric AI Vision on sidelines of India AI Impact Summit 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.

Secretary-General Guterres congratulated Prime Minister Modi for organising the AI Impact Summit with the aim of democratising AI and making it human-centric. Prime Minister Modi appreciated the Secretary-General’s efforts in establishing an Independent International Scientific Panel on Artificial Intelligence and for his support to developing countries on AI issues. The Prime Minister reiterated the MANAV Vision for AI and emphasised technology’s role as a catalyst for development.

Both leaders exchanged views on a multipolar world that reflects contemporary realities. They also underlined the urgent need for reform of the United Nations, particularly the UN Security Council.

Prime Minister Modi wished Secretary-General Guterres the very best for the remainder of his tenure.
