PM Modi calls for addressing India-China border situation to put behind strained ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stressed that India-China border situation needs to be addressed urgently to put the abnormalities in ties behind. The Prime Minister added that stable and peaceful relations between India and China are important for not just the two countries but the entire region and world.

In an interview to a media house, PM Modi shed light on India-China ties and competing with its neighbour. He said that India is a natural choice for those looking to diversify their supply chains, as it is a democratic polity and global economic growth engine.

He also said that he would not like to draw comparisons with China and Japan as each country faces unique challenges and has unique development models.

PM Modi also highlighted the infrastructural growth India has had in the past 10 years. He said that the national highways network has increased 60%, from 91,287 kilometers [56,723 miles] in 2014 to 146,145 kilometers [90,810 miles] in 2023. He also highlighted the doubling of airports, introduction of high-speed Vande Bharat trains, Sagarmala projects and more.

Speaking on the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, PM Modi said that his government has worked with the motto of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” and will continue to work for everyone’s growth and trust.

The PM reiterated that India will continue to work with the aspiration to become the third largest economy in the world.
