PM Modi chairs meeting with Rajnath Singh, NSA, CDS, service chiefs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting at his residence on Friday amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi were among those present.

Earlier in the day, the defence minister conducted a review of the current security situation. The review came a day after Pakistan attempted to target Indian cities, civilian infrastructure, and military installations. These attacks were effectively repelled by the Indian Defence Forces.

The meeting was attended by the country’s top security officials, including Defence Secretary RK Singh.

A series of drone and missile attacks launched by Pakistan on Thursday night were neutralised by India’s air defence systems, including the S-400, preventing any significant damage along the western border.
