PM Modi congratulates Murali Sreeshankar on winning another Asian Games medal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Murali Sreeshankar on winning another Asian Games medal in the men’s long jump, saying his performance earned him a well-deserved place on the podium.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said, “Another Asian Games medal for Murali Sreeshankar! His leap earned him a place on the Men’s Long Jump podium. Congratulations to him. Wishing him many more successes ahead: PM @narendramodi”.

India’s Murali Sreeshankar produced a gutsy performance to win silver in the men’s long jump at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, overcoming severe pain from an ankle injury to finish with a best effort of 8.07m.
