PM Modi extends greetings on fourth day of Sharad Navratri, prays for happiness and prosperity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings on the fourth day of Sharad Navratri, offering prayers to Maa Kushmanda and wishing people happiness, prosperity, good health and renewed hope.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “On the occasion of Navratri, today is the prescribed worship of Devi Mata’s fourth form, Maa Kushmanda. May her boundless energy infuse new hope, happiness, prosperity, and good health into the lives of all our countrymen.”

PM Modi also shared a YouTube link to Vijayavadalo Velisina Durgamma, Durga Devi Devotional Songs Telangana Folks, featuring devotional songs dedicated to the Goddess.

He also shared a Sanskrit prayer dedicated to the Divine Mother, invoking her as the embodiment of auspiciousness, compassion and divine grace, and seeking her blessings for the fulfilment of righteous aspirations and the protection of devotees.

Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also extended greetings on the occasion.

In a post on X in Hindi, Adityanath offered prayers to Maa Kushmanda, the fourth manifestation of Goddess Durga, and sought her blessings for devotees.

“Repeated salutations at the feet of Maa Bhagavati’s fourth form, Maa Kushmanda. May Mother’s grace infuse health, happiness, prosperity, energy, and positivity into the lives of all devotees—this is the prayer. Jai Ma Kushmanda,” he said.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also paid tribute to Maa Kushmanda, describing her as the primordial creative force of the universe and the source of life, energy and consciousness.

“On the sacred fourth day of Navratri, humble salutations at the lotus feet of the primordial creative force of the universe, the Divine Maa Kushmanda,” Gupta wrote on X.

She said Maa Kushmanda, whose divine smile is believed to have brought the universe into existence, symbolises the energy that sustains all creation. She prayed for the Goddess’s blessings to bring auspiciousness and well-being to all.

Maa Kushmanda, worshipped on the fourth day of Sharad Navratri, is associated with creative energy, warmth and new beginnings. According to Hindu tradition, she created the universe with her divine smile, bringing light and energy to the cosmos.

Devotees offer prayers to the Goddess seeking blessings for good health, prosperity, strength and happiness.

Sharad Navratri is a nine-day Hindu festival dedicated to the nine manifestations of Goddess Durga. Each day is marked by special prayers and rituals honouring a different form of the Goddess.

The festival culminates in Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, which symbolises the victory of good over evil.
