Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended his greetings on the occasion of Holi, expressing hope that the festival would bring joy, enthusiasm, and harmony into people’s lives while strengthening national unity.
Taking to X, PM Modi wished citizens a Happy Holi, emphasizing the festival’s significance in fostering unity and strengthening social bonds.
“I wish you all a very Happy Holi. This festival, filled with joy and happiness, will infuse new enthusiasm and energy in everyone’s life and deepen the colors of unity among countrymen,” he wrote in Hindi.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi returned to New Delhi on Thursday after concluding his two-day state visit to Mauritius. During his visit, he attended the country’s National Day celebrations as the Chief Guest and participated in key events highlighting India-Mauritius ties.
Expressing gratitude to the people and government of Mauritius, PM Modi thanked Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam for the warm hospitality. He also shared highlights from his visit, including attending the National Day parade in Port Louis and offering prayers at the sacred Ganga Talao.
Thousands of people lined the streets for kilometers to catch a glimpse of PM Modi as he traveled to Ganga Talao, where he performed prayers and mixed holy water brought from Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi was conferred with Mauritius’ highest civilian honor, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean, by President Dharam Gokhool. This marked the second time PM Modi was invited as the Chief Guest for Mauritius’ National Day, the first being in 2015.
Despite heavy rain, thousands gathered at the venue to witness the honor being bestowed upon the Indian leader, recognizing his contributions to strengthening bilateral ties.
