PM Modi hails BJP’s victory in Delhi polls: ‘Delhi freed from AAPda, people filled with excitement and relief’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed his gratitude to the people of Delhi for their overwhelming support in the assembly polls, crediting the BJP’s victory to the citizens’ desire to make the capital “AAP-da free.”

Addressing a gathering at the BJP headquarters after the party’s resounding victory, PM Modi assured the people of Delhi that their love and trust in the BJP would be repaid with progress and development. “I thank the people of Delhi. You have given us your love wholeheartedly, and I assure you that we will return that love double-fold in the form of development,” Modi said.

He further added, “Today, there is excitement and relief among the people of Delhi—excitement for this victory and relief for making Delhi ‘AAP-da free.’ I bow my head in gratitude to the people of Delhi for believing in Modi’s guarantee.”

PM Modi highlighted that the people of Delhi have chosen a “double-engine” government, which will significantly accelerate the capital’s development. He described the victory as an endorsement of the BJP’s governance and development model, reiterating that the welfare of the poor and the middle class has always been the party’s priority. Initiatives like the metro, airports, urban development, Startup India, and Ayushman Bharat are already benefiting the common people. He also emphasized that the support of women has been the BJP’s strongest shield, promising that the government will continue to fulfill its promises to women across the country. The Prime Minister reassured the women of Delhi, saying that every promise made to them would be fulfilled.

Taking a strong stance against the politics of appeasement, PM Modi asserted that the BJP believes in “satisfaction for all,” not selective appeasement. He accused previous governments of hindering metro projects in Delhi, denying homes to slum dwellers, and keeping citizens away from welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat. However, the people of Delhi have now sent a clear message: they want only development. Modi hailed Delhi’s diversity as a “mini India,” where people from every language, culture, and region reside. He noted that this election has reinforced the vision of “One India, Great India.”

PM Modi also framed urbanization as a key tool for empowering the poor, emphasizing his commitment to improving urban infrastructure. He stated that the BJP aims to free Delhi from issues like broken roads, garbage heaps, sewer overflows, and pollution. For the first time, BJP governments have been formed in all states of Delhi-NCR—Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan—which will open new avenues for regional development. Modi reiterated that BJP will provide Delhi with the best urban infrastructure to uplift the city.

Reflecting on BJP’s governance in other states, Modi stated, “The public has completely rejected shortcut politics.” He cited examples of reforms in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, and the northeastern states, emphasizing that Delhi will now follow the same path of progress. Modi stressed that Delhi’s citizens have made it clear that governance will no longer be about theatrics and deception but about substance. He added that the people have firmly rejected the politics of shortcuts.

On BJP’s historic victory, PM Modi thanked all party workers and voters, calling the win more than just a political victory. “This is the beginning of a new era for Delhi, where development, vision, and trust will be the primary focus,” he concluded.
