Highlighting the importance of investing in people, the Prime Minister underscored the three pillars—education, skill development, and healthcare—that form the foundation for national progress. He said that India’s education system is undergoing a transformation, citing key initiatives such as the National Education Policy (NEP), expansion of IITs, and integration of AI-driven learning tools. Efforts like the digitization of textbooks and making study materials available in 22 Indian languages have aligned India’s education system with 21st-century global standards, he said.
Speaking on skill development, PM Modi highlighted that over three crore youth have received training since 2014, with 1,000 ITIs upgraded and five Centers of Excellence established. He urged industries and academic institutions to collaborate in providing youth with relevant training, ensuring they are equipped to compete globally.
In the healthcare sector, the Prime Minister announced the addition of 10,000 medical seats this year and a target of 75,000 new medical seats over five years. He also highlighted initiatives like telemedicine expansion, daycare cancer centers, and digital healthcare infrastructure, which he said would generate employment while ensuring quality healthcare reaches the last mile.
Speaking on urban development, PM Modi projected that by 2047, India’s urban population would reach nearly 90 crore, requiring planned expansion. He introduced the ₹1 lakh crore Urban Challenge Fund, aimed at enhancing governance, infrastructure, and private investment in urban areas. He stressed that Indian cities would be globally recognized for sustainable mobility, digital integration, and climate resilience, urging the real estate and industrial sectors to drive growth in urbanization efforts.
The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s booming tourism sector, stating that it could contribute up to 10% of the GDP and create millions of jobs. He revealed plans to develop 50 tourist destinations, grant infrastructure status to hotels, and expand initiatives like Mudra Yojana for homestays, ‘Heal in India,’ and ‘Land of the Buddha’ to attract both domestic and international visitors.
PM Modi reaffirmed his vision of India becoming a $5 trillion economy, emphasizing that right investments and collaborative efforts would drive the nation’s future growth.
