Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday underscored the critical role of youth in nation-building during the 132nd edition of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, lauding initiatives by MY Bharat for actively engaging young citizens in policymaking and development.

Addressing the nation, the Prime Minister described India as one of the youngest countries in the world and said that the energy and ideas of its youth are key drivers of progress. He highlighted how MY Bharat is connecting young people with constructive activities and providing platforms for meaningful participation.

PM Modi referred to a recent “Budget Quest” initiative organised by MY Bharat, aimed at familiarising youth with the Union Budget process and encouraging their involvement in policy discussions. He noted that nearly 12 lakh participants took part in the quiz, with around 1.6 lakh advancing to the essay competition stage.

The Prime Minister said he personally reviewed several entries and was impressed by the depth of thought and commitment shown by participants. He cited examples of students from across the country who wrote on themes such as farmer welfare, women-led development, environmental sustainability, sports talent identification, skill development, and ease of doing business.

Highlighting specific contributions, PM Modi mentioned essays focusing on agricultural reforms, empowering women, promoting a green and clean India, and improving grassroots sports infrastructure. He said these ideas reflect the aspirations and forward-thinking approach of India’s youth.

Commending all participants, the Prime Minister emphasised that such ideas are vital for shaping the country’s future and strengthening inclusive development. He reiterated that greater youth engagement in governance and policymaking will play a crucial role in advancing India’s growth trajectory.
