PM Modi introduces five ‘Pushp’ petals for a Viksit Bharat in New York

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that India is no longer a nation that waits for opportunities; instead, it actively creates them. Speaking at an Indian diaspora event at Nassau Coliseum, he introduced the concept of five petals of ‘Pushp’ that he believes will lead to a developed India.

During his address, PM Modi highlighted the progress made in the last decade, saying, “Today, India is a land of opportunities. In just ten years, we have created launching pads across every sector, lifting 25 crore people out of poverty. This transformation was achieved by changing our old mindset and focusing on empowering the poor. We have connected over 50 crore individuals to the banking system.”

He elaborated on the ‘Pushp’ concept, where ‘P’ stands for Progressive Bharat, ‘U’ for Unstoppable Bharat, ‘S’ for Spiritual Bharat, ‘H’ for Humanity First, and the final ‘P’ for Prosperous India. “All five petals of ‘Pushp’ will contribute to a Viksit Bharat,” he emphasized.

PM Modi also highlighted India’s growing prominence in various fields, including sports, business, and entertainment. “India is a major center of attraction today. The IPL is among the top sports leagues globally, and Indian films are performing well internationally,” he said.

The Prime Minister’s visit to New York marks the second leg of his three-day trip to the United States. On Saturday, he participated in the Quad Summit, engaging in bilateral discussions with US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The Quad alliance aims to promote peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
