PM Modi, leaders extend birthday wishes to former President Ram Nath Kovind

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his warm wishes to former President Ram Nath Kovind on his birthday, commending his distinguished service to the nation and commitment to public welfare.

Born on October 1, 1945, in Paraunkh, Uttar Pradesh, Kovind served as India’s 14th President from July 25, 2017, to July 21, 2022. He was the first person from Uttar Pradesh and the first BJP member to hold the office. During his tenure, he addressed the Parliament five times and administered the oath of office to three Chief Justices of India and 29 Supreme Court judges.

Extending his greetings on X, PM Modi said: “Warm wishes to former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji on his birthday. His distinguished service to our nation and commitment to public welfare have earned him immense respect. His wisdom and guidance on various issues are deeply valued. May he be blessed with good health and a long life.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his wishes, saying that Kovind’s dedication to constitutional duties, simplicity, and integrity has inspired many social workers, and he prayed for his continued good health and long life.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar extended his heartfelt birthday greetings, wishing the former President excellent health and longevity.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath added on X: “Heartfelt birthday greetings to former President Ram Nath Kovind! May Lord Shri Ram bless you with a long, glorious life and excellent health.”
