Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended heartfelt wishes to the nation on the occasion of Navroz, also known as Nowruz, the Parsi New Year.

“Navroz Mubarak! May this special day bring abundance of happiness, prosperity, and good health to all. May the coming year be marked by success and progress, and may the bonds of harmony be strengthened. Wishing a joyful and fulfilling year ahead!” PM Modi said in a post on X.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda also conveyed his greetings. “On this auspicious occasion of Navroz, I extend my warmest New Year greetings to the Parsi community across the globe. May this New Year bring peace, good health, and prosperity to you and your loved ones. Wishing you a joyful and blessed year ahead. Navroz Mubarak,” he said in a post on X.

Navroz is the Persian festival marking the beginning of the new year in the Iranian calendar. Celebrated across Asia for thousands of years, it signifies both the arrival of spring and the start of a new year. While multiple communities observe the festival, it holds particular spiritual significance for Zoroastrians, where its roots lie.

Earlier, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju also greeted the people on the occasion.
“Wishing our Parsi sisters and brothers a joyous and prosperous Navroz! May this new year bring happiness, success, and good health to you and your loved ones. Your rich traditions and contributions make our society stronger. Wishing you a year filled with joy and prosperity,” Rijiju shared.

Several other leaders, including those from the Opposition, also extended their wishes to the Parsi community.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Our warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Navroz, the Parsi New Year. Navroz marks the onset of new beginnings, celebrating life and hope. May this festival strengthen the bonds of harmony and reinvigorate the values of peace in our diverse country. Navroz Mubarak!”

Leader of opposition in Loksabha, Rahul Gandhi shared a post on X, “May this auspicious occasion bring joy, good health, and prosperity to you and your loved ones.”
