PM Modi meets beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana-Urban in Bhubaneswar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with beneficiaries of the PM Awas Yojana-Urban in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on Tuesday. Accompanied by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, he visited the homes of several recipients, where they voiced their concerns.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister is set to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects in Bhubaneswar, with a total investment exceeding Rs 3,800 crores.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation Railway Projects worth more than Rs 2800 crores in Bhubaneswar. These Railway projects will enhance Railway infrastructure in Odisha and improve growth and connectivity in the region. He will also lay the foundation stone of National Highway Projects worth more than Rs. 1000 crore.

The Prime Minister will also launch ‘SUBHADRA’, the flagship scheme of the Government of Odisha, in Bhubaneswar. It is the largest, single women-centric scheme and is expected to cover more than 1 crore women. Under the scheme, all eligible beneficiaries between the ages of 21 and 60 would receive Rs 50,000 for 5 years between 2024-25 to 2028-29. An amount of Rs 10,000 per annum in two equal instalments will be credited directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled bank account. The launch ceremony will witness the Prime Minister initiating the fund transfer into the bank accounts of more than 10 lakh women.

Additionally, PM Modi will release the first installment of financial assistance to nearly 10 lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) across 14 states. As part of the programme, Griha Pravesh celebrations will be held for 26 lakh beneficiaries of PMAY, both Gramin and Urban, from across the country. During the event, PM Modi will hand over house keys to PMAY beneficiaries. He will also launch the Awaas+ 2024 app, designed for surveying additional households eligible for PMAY-G. Furthermore, PM Modi will unveil the Operational Guidelines for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0.
