PM Modi shares Jyotiraditya Scindia’s article on shift from welfare to empowerment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday shared an article by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighting a shift in India’s governance approach from welfare delivery to citizen empowerment.

Scindia said governance under PM Modi’s leadership was being reshaped around dignity, opportunity and Jan Bhagidari, or public participation. The real measure of progress, he said, lay in both what the government delivered and how it empowered every citizen to participate in nation-building.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said Scindia’s article outlined how government initiatives were enabling citizens to become active participants in development.

“From sanitation and gas connections to healthcare and access to credit, the focus is on last-mile delivery and creating opportunities for people to improve their lives,” the PMO said.

It added that the approach was central to the vision of a developed and empowered India – “Viksit and Sashakt Bharat” – by 2047.
