Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the evolving regional situation amid escalating tensions in West Asia.
During the call, PM Modi conveyed India’s concerns over recent developments and underscored that the safety of civilians must remain the utmost priority.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Had a telephone call with PM Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the current regional situation. Conveyed India’s concerns over recent developments and emphasised the safety of civilians as a priority. India reiterates the need for an early cessation of hostilities.”
PM Modi also chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Sunday to review the situation in West Asia.
The meeting was held at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, the Prime Minister’s official residence, shortly after his return from a two-day visit to Puducherry and Madurai.
