PM Modi speaks with Kuwait Crown Prince, discusses West Asia situation, conveys Eid greetings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, conveying Eid greetings and discussing the evolving situation in West Asia.

During the conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on recent regional developments and shared concerns over the situation. Modi reiterated India’s condemnation of attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He also emphasised that ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz remains a key priority, given its strategic importance for global trade and energy supplies.

Both sides agreed that sustained diplomatic engagement is essential to maintain peace and stability in the region.

The Prime Minister also thanked the Crown Prince for his continued support towards the safety and wellbeing of the Indian community in Kuwait.

In a post on X, PM Modi said:
“Spoke with HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait and conveyed greetings on the upcoming festival of Eid.

We exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia and shared concerns over recent developments. Reiterated India’s condemnation of attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz remains our foremost priority.

We agreed that sustained diplomatic engagement remains essential for regional peace and stability.

I thanked him for continued support for the safety and wellbeing of the Indian community in Kuwait.”

The call reflects the close and longstanding ties between India and Kuwait, anchored in strong economic cooperation, energy partnerships and shared regional interests. It also underscores the importance both sides place on the welfare of the Indian diaspora and continued diplomatic engagement for regional stability.
