PM Modi to address public meetings and unveil key projects in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh on March 30

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh on March 30 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects. During his visit, he will travel to Nagpur and Bilaspur, where he will address public gatherings and unveil key initiatives focused on infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

In Maharashtra, PM Modi’s visit to Nagpur coincides with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Pratipada program, marking the beginning of the Hindu New Year. He will begin his day by offering prayers at Smruti Mandir and paying homage to the founding fathers of the RSS. The PM will then visit Deekshabhoomi, the site where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar embraced Buddhism in 1956 along with thousands of his followers.

At around 10 AM, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, an extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute & Research Centre. Established in 2014, this super-specialty ophthalmic care facility in Nagpur is dedicated to providing world-class and affordable eye care. The upcoming center will include a 250-bed hospital, 14 outpatient departments, and 14 modular operation theatres.

At 12:30 PM, he will visit Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited in Nagpur, where he will inaugurate a newly built 1250-meter-long and 25-meter-wide airstrip for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The prime minister will also launch the Loitering Munition and Warhead Testing Facility, further strengthening India’s defense and aerospace capabilities.

Later in the day, the PM Modi will travel to Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, where he will lay the foundation stone, initiate work, and dedicate to the nation multiple projects worth over ₹33,700 crore. His focus will be on power generation, infrastructure, education, and housing.

In the power sector, he will lay the foundation stone for NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project (Stage-III, 1x800MW), a project worth ₹9,790 crore that is based on Ultra-Supercritical Technology to ensure high power generation efficiency. He will also initiate the commencement of Chhattisgarh’s First Supercritical Thermal Power Project (2X660MW) under the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited, a ₹15,800 crore project aimed at making the state self-reliant in electricity production. Additionally, he will dedicate to the nation three power transmission projects of POWERGRID under the Western Region Expansion Scheme, worth ₹560 crore.

As part of his commitment to promoting cleaner energy solutions, the prime minister will lay the foundation stone for City Gas Distribution projects in Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur, and Surguja districts. This initiative includes a 200 km high-pressure pipeline, 800 km of MDPE pipeline, and multiple CNG stations, with a total investment of ₹1,285 crore. He will also launch the Visakhapatnam-Raipur Pipeline project of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, a ₹2,210 crore, 540 km-long pipeline that will transport petrol, diesel, and kerosene.

In the rail and road infrastructure sector, he will lay the foundation stone for seven railway projects with a total length of 108 km and dedicate to the nation three completed railway projects spanning 111 km, with a total investment of ₹2,690 crore. A new MEMU train service will also be flagged off in the Abhanpur-Raipur section via Mandir Hasaud to enhance regional connectivity. Additionally, he will announce the 100% electrification of Chhattisgarh’s railway network, contributing to sustainable transportation. On the road infrastructure front, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple highway upgradation projects worth ₹1,270 crore, improving accessibility in tribal and industrial areas.

In the education sector, PM Modi will dedicate 130 PM SHRI Schools across 29 districts to the nation, ensuring high-quality education through modern infrastructure and facilities. A Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Raipur will also be launched to enable real-time monitoring and analysis of government education programs.
