Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Johannesburg, South Africa, from November 21 to 23, to attend the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit hosted by the Republic of South Africa, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Wednesday.
According to the MEA release, this year’s Summit marks the fourth consecutive G20 meeting held in the Global South, underscoring the growing influence and cooperation of developing nations in shaping global governance.
During the Summit, PM Modi will present India’s perspectives on major global priorities across three key sessions. The session on Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth will focus on building resilient economies, trade, financing for development and addressing global debt challenges. The second session, A Resilient World, will cover disaster risk reduction, climate change, just energy transitions and food systems. The third session, A Fair and Just Future for All, will discuss critical minerals, decent work and artificial intelligence.
In addition to participation in the plenary sessions, the Prime Minister is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the Summit. He will also attend the India–Brazil–South Africa (IBSA) Leaders’ Meeting, which will be convened by South Africa.
