PM Modi to felicitate 11 lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’ in Maharashtra on August 25

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district on August 25 to felicitate 11 lakh new ‘Lakhpati Didis’ who achieved this milestone during the third term of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government. Following this, he will travel to Rajasthan to attend the concluding ceremony of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Rajasthan High Court.

PM Modi’s visit comes amidst the tragic news that 25 pilgrims from Maharashtra’s Jalgaon lost their lives in a bus accident in Nepal. These pilgrims were part of a group of 110 people from Maharashtra who traveled to Nepal in two buses and one traveler van. On Saturday night, the Indian Air Force (IAF) military transport aircraft brought the bodies of the deceased back to Jalgaon.
