Yet another gift in waiting for the state of Uttar Pradesh! The Indian Railways will shortly launch the country's 25th Vande Bharat Express. The North Eastern Railway (NER) zone will receive this new semi-high speed train. This is also the NER's first train coloured blue and white. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to flag off the train later this week.
According to Pankaj Kumar Singh, North Eastern Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), “PM Modi is likely to inaugurate Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat on July 7, 2023, however it is a tentative date.” The new Vande Bharat Express service will connect Gorakhpur and Lucknow. The rake arrived in Gorakhpur on Saturday from Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF), reported Hindusthan Samachar.
The new Vande Bharat is expected to go more than 270 km in less than four hours. The quickest trains currently travelling between the two cities are the Gorakhdham Express and the Bihar Sampark Kranti Express. Both trains travel the same distance in four hours and forty-five minutes.
Just a couple of days earlier, Prime Minister Modi flagged off the state-of-the-art Vande Bharat Express from Ranchi also. this was the 1st Vande Bharat Express connecting the two States of Jharkhand and Bihar.
The indigenously designed first ever Vande Bharat Express connecting two States of Jharkhand and Bihar is expected to bring a major boost to education, tourism and business. The train consisting of eight coaches runs between Ranchi and Patna and vice versa covering a distance of 379 km.
Enhancing connectivity between Patna and Ranchi, the train halts at Gaya, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Barkakana and Mesra stations. Reducing the journey time between two state capitals to nearly six hours the train runs on all six days a week except Tuesday.
