Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off three new Vande Bharat Express trains via video conferencing at 12:30 PM today. The introduction of these state-of-the-art trains aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Make in India’ and Aatmanirbhar Bharat, aiming to enhance connectivity across three routes: Meerut-Lucknow, Madurai-Bengaluru, and Chennai-Nagercoil.
The Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express is expected to save passengers approximately one hour compared to the current fastest train on this route. Similarly, the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil and Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat trains will reduce travel times by over two hours and about one hour and 30 minutes, respectively.
These new Vande Bharat trains will provide a world-class travel experience, emphasizing speed and comfort, and will serve the states of Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. The introduction of these trains is expected to set a new standard for rail services, catering to the needs of regular travelers, professionals, businesspeople, and the student community in the region.
