Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 38th National Games in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Tuesday.
In a post on X, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the Prime Minister for raising sports awareness in the country, saying, “The Prime Minister’s efforts have raised awareness about sports in the country and provided the young generation with a significant platform to showcase their talent. Under his leadership, India has achieved remarkable success in various sports on the global stage.”
The games, coinciding with Uttarakhand’s Silver Jubilee, will take place in 11 cities across eight districts from January 28 to February 14.
In a self-recorded video, CM Dhami emphasized that the state government has completed all preparations for hosting the National Games. “Uttarakhand has the privilege of hosting the 38th National Games, and the state government has ensured that all preparations for this event are complete. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this event will mark a golden chapter in Uttarakhand’s sports history. This historic event, taking place from January 28 to February 14, will inspire our youth to embrace sports and foster a spirit of competition and collaboration,” he said.
The chief minister also urged citizens to participate actively in the event. “I encourage everyone to actively participate and contribute to the success of this event by supporting and cheering for our players,” he added.
The games will be inaugurated at around 6 PM.
