PM Modi to inaugurate major national highway projects in Gurugram

In a bid to bolster infrastructure development and improve connectivity across the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gurugram, Haryana on 11th March. The highlight of the visit will be the inauguration and laying of the foundation stone for a total of 112 National Highway projects, collectively valued at approximately Rs. One lakh crore.

Among the key projects to be inaugurated is the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48. The 19 km stretch, built at a cost of around Rs. 4,100 crore, features an 8-lane expressway and includes vital connections such as the Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and Basai ROB to Kherki Daula, providing direct access to the IGI Airport in Delhi and Gurugram Bypass.

Additionally, other significant projects slated for inauguration include the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Delhi, Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh, NH16 section in Andhra Pradesh, NH-21 section in Himachal Pradesh, and Dobaspet – Heskote section in Karnataka, among others. These projects, with a combined investment of over Rs. 20,500 crores, are expected to enhance traffic flow, reduce travel time, and stimulate economic growth in their respective regions.

Furthermore, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for several National Highway projects across the country, including the Bengaluru – Kadappa – Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh, Belgaum – Hungund – Raichur Section in Karnataka, Shamli – Ambala Highway in Haryana, and Amritsar – Bathinda corridor in Punjab, among others. These projects, with an estimated investment of Rs. 32,700 crores, are poised to further expand the National Highway network and foster socio-economic development, job creation, and trade opportunities nationwide.
